Adopting Accounting Information Systems (AIS) can significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial management in local governments. However, the process of adoption often faces several challenges, particularly among employees who may be resistant to change or lack the necessary technical skills. In Patigi Local Government Area, understanding the specific challenges faced by local government employees in adopting AIS is critical for ensuring successful implementation. This study will explore the barriers to AIS adoption in Patigi LGA.
Statement of the Problem
Local government employees in Patigi LGA face numerous challenges in adopting and utilizing AIS, which hampers the effectiveness of financial management processes. Despite the potential benefits of AIS, the adoption process has been slow due to factors such as lack of training, resistance to change, and inadequate infrastructure. This study aims to investigate these challenges and provide recommendations for overcoming them.
